14th VDI Conference on Sewage Sludge Treatment

The new Sewage Sludge Ordinance requires sewage treatment plant operators to recycle sewage sludge and recover phosphorus after the end of the transition periods in 2029 and 2032. Sewage treatment plant operators will, however, have to submit a report by 2023 on the measures they intend to take to recover phosphorus. In addition to the implementation of the new legal developments, the 14th VDI Conference on Sewage Sludge Treatment will present technical innovations for dewatering and drying sewage sludge, experiences with sewage sludge mono-incineration and new strategies and project results for P-recycling.
