17th VDI conference Sewage Sludge Treatment

The VDI conference “Sewage Sludge Treatment” will be chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Grömping, Aachen University of Applied Sciences, and Dr. Daniel Frank, Chairman of DPP e.V. and owner of daniel frank communications, Frankfurt. In addition to legal changes, technical solutions for the mechanical and thermal treatment of sewage sludge will be presented. Another important topic is the extraction and use of recyclable materials from sludge water, dewatered sewage sludge, or sewage sludge ash, including nitrogen, but especially phosphorus. The practical implementation of the regulations from the Sewage Sludge and Fertilizer Ordinance is the focus of the Sewage Sludge Conference. A plant tour is planned for participants every year. In 2026, we will visit the Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) plants at the Waßmannsdorf site.
